At SweeperParts.au, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Returns & Refunds Policy outlines your rights and our procedures for returning products and receiving refunds. We comply with all requirements under Australian Consumer Law.

1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
  • Repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

These consumer guarantees apply in addition to any other warranties we may offer.

2. 30-Day Return Policy

2.1 General Return Conditions

We accept returns of eligible products within 30 days of purchase for a refund or exchange, provided that:

  • The product is in its original, unused condition
  • All original packaging, labels, and documentation are included
  • The product has not been installed or fitted to a vehicle
  • You have obtained a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from us

2.2 How to Initiate a Return

To start a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order at support@sweeperparts.au
  2. Provide your order number, the product(s) you wish to return, and reason for return
  3. Receive your RMA number - We'll issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization number and return instructions
  4. Ship the product back with the RMA number clearly marked on the package

Important: Returns without a valid RMA number may be refused or delayed.

3. Non-Returnable Items

For health, safety, and quality reasons, the following items cannot be returned unless they are faulty or we made an error:

  • Custom-ordered or special-order parts - Items ordered specifically for you
  • Electrical components - Including sensors, switches, and electronic modules (unless defective)
  • Consumable items - Filters, brushes, belts, and other wear items that have been opened
  • Installed or used products - Any part that shows signs of installation, fitting, or use
  • Clearance and final sale items - Products marked as clearance or final sale at time of purchase
  • Products not in original packaging - Items with damaged, missing, or opened packaging

If you're unsure whether your item is eligible for return, please contact us before initiating a return.

4. Defective or Incorrect Products

4.1 Warranty Coverage

Unless otherwise specified, all aftermarket parts carry a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

If you receive a defective product or we shipped the wrong item, we will:

  • Provide a full refund including original shipping costs, or
  • Send a replacement product at no charge
  • Arrange and pay for return shipping of the defective/incorrect item

4.2 Reporting Defects

If you believe you've received a defective or incorrect product:

  1. Contact us immediately at support@sweeperparts.au
  2. Provide photographic evidence - Clear photos showing the defect or incorrect item
  3. Do not install the product if it appears defective
  4. Keep all packaging and documentation

We'll review your claim and provide instructions on next steps, typically within 1 business day.

4.3 Warranty Exclusions

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear from regular use
  • Misuse, abuse, or operation outside of specifications
  • Improper installation or maintenance
  • Modifications or repairs by unauthorized persons
  • Use of incorrect or contaminated fluids
  • Accident, collision, or environmental factors

5. Change of Mind Returns

5.1 Restocking Fee

For change-of-mind returns on eligible items (items in original condition as per Section 2.1), a 10% restocking fee applies to cover handling, inspection, and repackaging costs.

The restocking fee is calculated on the product price (excluding shipping) and will be deducted from your refund.

5.2 Return Shipping Costs

You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (defective product, wrong item shipped, or our mistake). We recommend using a trackable shipping method and obtaining proof of delivery.

Risk of loss: You bear the risk of loss or damage during return shipping for change-of-mind returns. We recommend insuring valuable items.

5.3 Original Shipping Costs

Original outbound shipping costs are non-refundable for change-of-mind returns. Only the product cost (less restocking fee) will be refunded.

6. Refund Processing

6.1 Inspection Process

Once we receive your returned item, we will:

  1. Inspect the product to verify it meets return conditions
  2. Process your refund within 14 business days
  3. Email you confirmation of your refund

6.2 Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank
  • Trade Account: Credit will be applied to your account within 14 business days

You will receive an email notification when your refund has been processed. Please allow your financial institution's standard processing time for the refund to appear in your account.

6.3 Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be granted in the following situations:

  • Product shows signs of use or installation
  • Original packaging is damaged or missing
  • Product is returned after 30 days but within warranty period
  • Product is incomplete or missing accessories

We will contact you before processing a partial refund to explain the deduction and offer alternatives.

7. Exchanges

We are happy to exchange products for the same or similar item if you ordered the wrong part or prefer a different option.

7.1 Exchange Process

To request an exchange:

  1. Contact us at support@sweeperparts.au with your order number
  2. Specify which product you'd like to exchange and what you'd like instead
  3. Receive your RMA number and exchange instructions
  4. Return the original product following our return guidelines

7.2 Price Differences

  • If the replacement item costs less, we'll refund the difference
  • If the replacement item costs more, you'll need to pay the difference before we ship

Additional shipping charges may apply for exchanges, depending on the circumstances.

8. Damaged in Transit

If your product arrives damaged during shipping, please:

  1. Note damage on delivery receipt - Document any visible damage with the courier
  2. Photograph the damage - Take photos of the packaging and product damage
  3. Contact us within 48 hours at support@sweeperparts.au
  4. Keep all packaging - Retain all packaging materials for inspection

We will work with the courier and arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you. Do not discard damaged items until we've completed our claim process.

9. Wrong Item Ordered

We understand that ordering the correct part can be challenging. If you've ordered the wrong part:

  • You may return it under our standard 30-day return policy (Section 2)
  • The part must be unused and in original packaging
  • Standard restocking fees apply for change-of-mind returns
  • Return shipping is at your expense

9.1 Fitment Assistance

To help you order the correct part the first time, we offer:

  • Fitment verification - Our team can verify fitment before you order
  • OEM cross-reference - We can check OEM part numbers against our catalogue
  • Technical support - Contact us if you're unsure which part you need

10. Cancelled Orders

10.1 Before Shipment

You may cancel your order for a full refund if it has not yet been shipped. Contact us as soon as possible at support@sweeperparts.au with your order number.

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days. We cannot guarantee cancellation if your order is already in fulfillment.

10.2 After Shipment

If your order has already shipped, you cannot cancel it. However, you may refuse delivery or return the items under our standard return policy once received.

10.3 Refund Timeline

Refunds for cancelled orders are processed within 5 business days and will be returned to your original payment method.

11. Trade Account Returns

For customers with approved trade accounts:

  • All standard return policies apply
  • Credits will be applied to your account balance
  • Monthly statements will reflect returned items and credits

12. Return Shipping Address

All returns must be shipped to our returns warehouse. Do not ship returns to our office address.

When you receive your RMA number, we will provide the correct return shipping address and any specific packaging instructions.

Note: Returns sent without an RMA number or to an incorrect address may be refused or experience significant delays.

13. Special Circumstances

13.1 Bulk or Large Orders

For bulk orders or large/heavy items, special return arrangements may apply. Contact us before initiating a return to discuss freight options and any applicable fees.

13.2 International Orders

International returns may be subject to additional costs and customs procedures. Please contact us before returning any international order.

14. Disputes and Complaints

If you're not satisfied with how your return or refund has been handled:
